This program traces fact and folklore from his life as a peasan until his part in the Mexican civil war from 1910-1920 when 1.5 million people died. 16 May 1997, 9 pm/1 am ET (6 pm/10 pm PT)--A&E Movie, The Mean Season. A journalist unknowingly aids a serial killer in getting publicity. Kurt Russell as the reporter, and Mariel Hemingway as his girlfriend. Set in Florida at the beginning of hurricane season. 21 May 1997, 10 pm/2 am ET (7 pm/11 pm PT) Repeated 24 May, 2 pm ET (11 am PT)--20th Century with Mike Wallace, The FBI: Living Down J. Edgar Hoover. How the FBI went from an agency seen as incorruptible to an agency deeply troubled. 28 May 1997, 9 pm/1 am ET (6 pm/10 pm PT) Repeated 31 May, 4 pm ET (1 pm PT)--American Justice, Jewish Mobsters. Jewish gangsters were no less deviant, corrupt or murderous than the famed members of the Mafia. Today, the latest wave of immigration and the lure of opportunity in America has given new life to organized crime.
