There have been many evolutionary ("change through long ages of time") and naturalistic ("nature is all there is") ideas throughout the ages. Darwin did not event evolution, but simply provided the first "scientific" explanation for how it could have happened (through mutation and natural selection). Unfortunately, this idea has been used to justify many undesirable things through the slogan of "survival of the fittest". Even when people (including some scientists) come to understand that evolution is not sufficient to explain our world, they tend to turn to pantheistic (God and the material universe are the same) or other explanations that leave the Biblical God out of the picture. We can safely say that the workings of Satan, God's enemy, is the only reasonable way to explain how evolution, an idea so lacking in scientific merit, has become the dominant influence in all areas of science and society today.
