Her father and three older brothers were killed off at various times in defense of their Keep. Her mother decided that she liked widowhood, and defied her own brothers' attempts to marry her off to another neighbor. Hence, she decided that her remaining children, all daughters, should be trained to help manage the keep.

As she was the eldest, Cyrie was taught combat and strategy, and has long kept the safety of the family Keep. She met her husband while trying to stave off an attack by 6 of her annoying neighbors. He appeared, sized up the odds, and helped her dispatch the bullies.

Kevin Fastolf is a second son of an English lord, but was quite happy to agree to her "lordship" of the Keep, since otherwise he would have had no land at all. They are currently expecting their first child.
