During their Coronation Day, their first court ran very long and threatened to overrun the banquet. In order to keep the autocrats happy, presentation court was held during the revel.
An emissary from one of the eastern kingdoms (I do not remember if it was the East or the Middle), sent Avery and Larissa doves of peace, hoping to entice Caid to fight on their side at Pennsic.
Unfortunately, each dove (there were two) was kept in a very small travelling cages. Larissa, being a kind-hearted soul, took pity on her bird and put her hand into the cage to pet it.
The dove, being opportunistic, immediately sought its freedom, flying around the room. The whole court, in all their finery, immediately jumped up and tried to capture the poor bird.
One of my favourite images from that day was seeing Larissa climb up onto the throne and try to capture the bird with her veil. (She didn't succeed.)
The dove spent the rest of the evening in the rafters of the revel hall and managed to poop on several people, including Avery.
The bird was eventually captured by Amadea de Dragonessa Strada, if I am not mistaken, who being an animal lover, went out and bought bird seed, waiting for the bird to become hungry and fly down to the food.
She was given the birds to keep.
